The Arctic Giant is a gigantic Tyrannosaurus monster that appears in the 1942 Fleischer Superman animated short film The Arctic Giant.
Origin[]
A titanic theropod dinosaur was found preserved in the Siberian glaciers. The specimen got sent to a natural history museum in Metropolis, with a large cooling system set to keep it frozen. However, a single can of oil accidentally dropped in by a worker made the system malfunction, melting the ice and letting the creature escape its frozen prison. The monster went on a rampage throughout the city, destroying buildings, bridges and a dam all while being unfazed by gunfire. Fortunately, Superman was able to prevent the giant's destruction from endangering lives and defeated the Arctic Giant by tying the monster up with bridge cables, soon ending with it being displayed at the Metropolis Zoo.
