Copyright Status[]

While all of Dr. Seuss' published books for Children are under copyright in the United States, some works by him. Including some paintings, and stories that were first published in Redbook Magazine are in the public domain due to not being renewed.

"Sneetches" is still trademarked by Dr. Seuss Enterprises, so you can only use the name in way that doesn't confuse people as if Dr. Seuss' estate is involved. The final version of the story in the Sneetches and other Stories is still under copyright.
