Humpty Dumpty is a English nursery rhyme, probably originally a riddle and one of the best known in the English-speaking world. It tells the story of a character named Humpty Dumpty, a egg. Who falls off a wall and is broken beyond repair. Early versions date back to at least the 18th century, but may have existed earlier in oral tradition.
