Mary Poppins is a character created in 1926 by P. L Travers and first appeared in Mary Poppins and the Match Man in The Sun newspaper in New Zealand.
Appearance and Character Biography[]
Mary Poppins is a young Teenage nurse who is at least 17 years old. She wears a silken cloak and a feathered hat, white gloves, shoes with diamond buckles, and her Umbrella. She is looking after Jane and Michael Banks while their parents aren't around. She is romantically involved with Bert the Match Maker.

Mary Poppins and the Match Maker entered the public domain in 2022 in the United States since it was first published in 1926. The more iconic version of Mary Poppins from P. L Traver's 1934 book is still under copyright until 2030. Disney's version of the character is also still under copyright.
Disney does own a trademark on "Mary Poppins." So be careful not to confuse people as if your story is involved with Disney.
