- Despite Tom & Jerry being heavily featured in Our Gang Comics #1, they do not enter the public domain until 2036 due to their first appearance in Puss Gets the Boot still being under copyright.
- In the original comics he was never referred to as "Nibbles", but only as "Tuffy". The name "Nibbles" originates from the 1946 cartoon "The Milky Waif". However as names and titles cannot be copyrighted, it should still be fine to refer to him as "Nibbles".
